Abstract :
The development of Turbostart, an operator guide expert system in the use of power plant operation procedures is given. Turbostart provides a method for the representation of knowledge in a structured, schematic, and modular way, as well as assistance with a high experience level for the analysis and solution of operating problems. The following elements of this program are discussed: required functionalities, development methodologies, architecture, system organization, the power plant model, the systems and signals model, the logic processor, and the man-machine interface and the knowledge editor.<>
