Abstract :
An optic binary switch for aircraft application is investigated. A fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FFPI) bonded to a cantilever exhibits excellent linearity as a force sensor. White light inteferometry (WLI) system is used to monitor the elongation of FFPI. With proper threshholding, the system produces a binary output.
