Abstract :
The parity-check-bit-inserted (PCBI) turbo code which is a turbo codec with reduced number of iteration was proposed by Hyun-ho Jung, Gyongsu Lee and Sin-Chong Park (see Proc. IEEE VTC´2001 Spring, 2001, Greece). By inserting an even parity-check bit every six information bits, the coder can increase the minimum distance of the code and the number of iteration is reduced. Furthermore, this codec accommodates automatic repeat request (ARQ) scheme easily. We inserted the parity check bits in the traditional turbo encoder. An even parity checking module and adaptive iteration number control block are inserted in traditional turbo decoder that we designed
