Abstract :
Creep feed grinding is a type of material handling with grinding wheels. It gives high surface quality, low processing time and the possibility of automatic control. In this paper, using the design of experiments (DOE), the influences of major parameters of creep feed grinding process such as wheel speed, workpiece speed, depth of cut and dresser speed on the root geometrical dimensions has been studied. Experimental data were analyzed by analysis of variance and empirical model. It is found that, increasing the wheel speed, workpiece speed and depth of cut and decreasing the dresser speed results in finer root dimensional tolerances.
