Abstract :
Creep feed grinding is widely used in manufacturing supperalloy materials. These materials are usually used in aircrafts, gas turbines, petrochemical equipments and other high temperature applications. Since creep feed grinding is a complex and sensitive process, for assessing the good geometrical dimension, process parameters have to be considered simultaneously, while conventionally each characteristic is considered separately. In this paper, a statistical approach is presented which copes with the above mentioned demands and provides the opportunity for an efficient, multivariate optimization of the process. With a minimum of statistically planned experiments, mathematical models are derived which describe the influence of the process parameters and their interactions on dimensional characteristics of root of blade.
