Abstract
The injury of slips is the most serious problem for pedestrians. It is also one of the leading causes of injury for the labors in industrial circles. Many possible factors result the pedestrians to slip under particle contamination condition. However, the relative theoretical studies of particle contamination are lack and need to be improved. This paper investigates the microscopic mechanism of pedestrian slips caused by particle contamination. The study includes lubrication theory and grain flow theory. The parameters of slips including particle size and floor/shoe roughness are investigated. The parameters of slips include floor roughness, shoe roughness, and particle size, etc. Finally, the coefficient of friction is discussed to increase the understanding of slips with particle contamination.
