Abstract
This paper proposes an efficient adaptive bandwidth allocation scheme of virtual paths. The bandwidth of a virtual path is dynamically adjusted according to the link residual capacity. The scheme can remarkably reduce the node processing load and simplify the network architecture, while keeping a higher transmission efficiency. The excellent performance is proved by detailed theoretical analyses.
