Abstract :
In this paper the stability of systems consisting of a continuous-time, linear time-varying plant with a discrete-time, linear time-varying feedback controller is analysed. It is shown that provided that the hybrid system is uniformly exponentially stable, then the feedback system will be input-output stable. It is also shown that exponential stability of the system can be guaranteed by ensuring that a related discrete-time system is exponentially stable. These results generalize results of Chen and Francis (1991) who consider time-invariant plants
