            Abstract :
To support new telecommunication services easily, the open switch control architecture is introduced. In open architecture, switching systems are separated into a control plane and user/data plane. To develop the open system, the switch management function and standard interface protocol must be provided to the external switch controller. In this paper, we develop the open interface protocol that supports GSMP/VSI and the resource management function that performs physical ATM switch resource/connection management. Using the suggested architecture, we construct an ATM-MPLS system with the HAN-bit ACE ATM switching system.
