Abstract :
Anik-E is Telesat´s 5th generation of domestic communications satellites. While the earlier Anik satellites provided basically Canada only coverage at Ku-band, the Anik-E series will also provide cross border coverage on four channels at Ku-band frequencies. The coverage requirements are met by using three gridded, overlapped reflector antennas. Two of the antennas operate at Ku-band while the third operates at C-band. The function of the Anik-E spacecraft is discussed, and a description of the C-band and Ku-band antennas is provided. Antenna integration, alignment, and testing are also considered.<>
