Abstract :
A stepless current commutation technique for Matrix Converter is proposed. The proposed scheme is fast, safe and does not require any voltage and current sensors. A simple modification of the conventional input current filtering circuit limits the input short circuit current. Input and output voltage overshoots are clamped with the conventional protective diode clamp circuit. The stepless current commutation eliminates the need of complex commutation logics. The experimental results agree well with simulation results in PSpice.
