Abstract
Research in human operator alertness at night in nuclear power plants is reviewed, with particular emphasis on subjective and objective measures of alertness. Research at the Human Alertness Research Center (HARC) of the Institute for Circadian Physiology is described in some detail. HARC and simulation facilities are discussed.<>
