            Abstract : 
We propose an automatic dispersion equalization system with a zero dispersion detector that uses an alternating chirp signal and a dispersion-variable equalizer. Automatic dispersion equalization was successfully demonstrated in a 20-Gbit/s, 400-km transmission experiment.
