There are certain regional differences in China\´s R&D capability because of different levels in regional economic and scientific development. For the purpose of quantitative analysis on China\´s regional differences in R & D capability, this article comparatively analyzed the measures reflecting R&D capability in China\´s different provinces by using data from "2009 Statistical Yearbook of China Science and Technology". Based on the comparative analysis, the author comprehensively reviewed the differences in R&D capability across provinces in China. The research suggested that, similar to the regional economic development, imbalances emerged in the distribution of China\´s regional R&D activities.
