Abstract :
We have developed a tunable optical filter (TOF) with 0.05 nm wavelength accuracy and an erbium doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) with a relative intensity noise (RIN) of -136 dB/Hz to realize 32ch-WDM/310ch-SCM systems, taking into account the effect of FM/AM conversion on carrier to noise ratio (CNR) in TOFs and the optimum optical input power into the EDFAs.
