Abstract
With the rapid growth of economy, China has experienced constant rise in carbon dioxide emissions. The present research focus, therefore, has been on how to reduce its emission. This essay is based on STIRPAT model, selects 1995–2008 as samples, makes quantitative analysis of the correlation between carbon emissions from energy use and population, richness, energy intensity and industial structure, and then employs ridge regression function fitting. The research results show that China´s energy consumption is coal-based. Although energy consumption efficiency is on the increase, carbon emissions from energy use also show an upward trend. The relation model fitting between carbon emissions and economic growth didn´t present Kuznets curve. It proves that with economic development resources consumption has imposed increasing pressure on enviroment. China has to optimize industrial structure, and promote engergy consumption efficiency, transform energy development ideology and push the development of low-carbon economy.
