Abstract :
M-Governance is today´s mantra as it has innocuously taken a steady lead over e-Governance! Statistics have proven all assumptions on the scope of Internet and its possible reach in delivering e-services, as incorrect. On the contrary, the reach & acceptance for mobile and related services has been overwhelmingly high. Looking back on the reasons for this success on one hand & trying to capitalize on this success on the other hand, it is apparent that M-Governance is the next evolutionary step, if not revolutionary, in ensuring equitable access and inclusive development. This paper describes how a cloud based interoperable architectural framework was developed to provision public services on mobile devices, piloted in the Indian state of Kerala and helped rapid scaling up of services at the National level.
