Abstract :
A 2.5 Gbit/s ATM photonic space-division switching system prototype has been achieved for the first time in China. In this system, four users´ channels, each of 622 Mbit/s, are connected in a switching system. The total throughput of this system is 4/spl times/622 Mbit/s, i.e. 2.5 Gbit/s. Some features, experiment results and performance about this system are given.
