Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.

By paying a personal visit, we got the chance to cooperate with a knitting socks manufacturer in the Middle Taiwan for this study. According to the manufacturer´s demands, the students from the Department of Design of a university of technology were guided to create innovative product designs for socks for kids. Generally speaking, the industry-university cooperation helped the teachers and students have better understanding of the problems in product manufacturing, put theories into practice, and provide creative ideas for product design to the manufacturer, with both sides benefiting from it.
