Abstract
MANETs are formed of mobile nodes and so the nodes ambience is changing time to time and that´s why the routing problem in MANETs is intriguing. There are many routing protocols that have been proposed for this purpose. The protocols have been proposed so far achieves better performance depending on a particular context like mobility or node density etc. All protocols give their best performance when the topology meets their requirement .In this paper we present a protocol selector which uses a mobile agent to recommend the optimum protocol based on the current network topology. So instead of looking for a new protocol, by using protocol selector with mobile agent, we can have benefits of all the existing protocol while keeping the decentralized feature of MANETs.
