Abstract :
Molecular permeability of the pulmonary endothelium capillary has been assessed by the noninvasive indicator dilution technique. The N-isopropyl-l-123-p-iodoamphetamine (I-123 IMP) capillary permeability surface area per flow in the lung is calculated under the influence of pharmacological intervention of propranolol. Four dogs were used in both control and experimental studies. The dogs, weighing 17 to 20 kg, were anesthetized with an intravenous dose of thiamylal, approximately 10-15 min prior to the administration of the reference tracer Tc-99m dextran. Results are presented and discussed
