Abstract :
Network traffic has certain regularity within a certain period of time. This paper proposed definitions and computing methods of traffic entropy and wavelet traffic entropy based on wavelet and entropy, which are used for measuring uniform characteristics of network traffic. Then, we verified the regular pattern of different traffics of traffic entropy and wavelet traffic entropy using the data of network link. Finally, we discussed about those methods´ availability in anomaly traffic detection.
