  • Abstract
Standard cell design is a challenging task faced by VLSI chip designers. Traditional methods of standard cell design automation rely on a schematic representation supplied by a design engineer. We have demonstrated the possibility of applying a genetic algorithm (GADO) to design a cell given only a behavioral description (truth table). A working inverter is designed as a proof of concept
