Abstract :
The manufacturing execution system (MES) for product production handles different production processes according to the product characteristics, and different data according to the process in question. To efficiently provide the data of the production equipment to production systems like the MES, data collection by equipment interface is needed in consideration of the production data concerning the field equipment. This paper proposes a method of collecting production data through the equipment interface in order to collect the various types of production equipment data in shop floor. Production data can be collected by various interface systems such as the PLC-based interface, the sensor-based I/O interface, and the operator key-in interface. The data collection system secondarily processes the production data collected by the equipment interface using an H/W communication module and an operator key-in module, and can increase the flexibility of the collected data using a data parser.
