Abstract :
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large. While CSR is becoming a mainstream issue for many organizations, most of the research to date addresses CSR in large businesses and there is limited research on the relationship between small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and CSR. The goal of this research is to evaluate that there are gaps between the importance and performance level of implementation of CSR in SMEs Batik Tulis Lasem according to several stakeholders associated with SMEs Batik Tulis Lasem (owner of the enterprise, employee from the enterprise, employee from Dinas Perindustrian dan Koperasi/INDAKOP, society around the enterprise, and main consumer of the product). To evaluate these importance and performance level, The Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) framework was used. Implementing IPA framework requires four steps: developing a set of indicators that accurately describe and reflect the implementation of CSR in SMEs Batik Tulis Lasem, presenting the indicators to several stakeholders associated with SMEs Batik Tulis Lasem in questionnaire form that requires them to rate importance and CSR performance for each attribute, analyzing data for the importance and performance values of each indicator, and plotting each indicator on a four-quadrant action grid according to its rated importance and CSR performance. The results of this research showed that the majority of indicators are plotted in quadrant 2 (high importance and high performance), which indicates that there are no significant gap between the importance and the performance level of implementation of CSR in SMEs Batik Tulis Lasem. The result also indicate that there are difference opinion between various stakeholders in looking at importance and performance of implement- - ation of some indicators.
