Abstract
An architecture for line concentrators that simplifies the design, construction, and testing processes and improves the quality of service is presented. This architecture provides a series of novel features concerning hardware and software, facilities, performance and reliability, while the line concentrator manufacturing and maintenance costs are lower than that of similar existing equipment. An industrial prototype based on the architecture of the concentrator has been constructed and successfully tested both in the laboratory and in the field
