  • Abstract
Stability and performance with robustness features are key control pre-requisites. Rapid evolution in power electronics has made the area of power control a very dynamic subject. Evolving role of power controllers is to ensure optimum energy usage for connected loads and simultaneously taking care of a whole lot of issues such as reliability, EMI, power density, cost etc. In such trend, evolving topologies for high frequency inverters take center stage where many fast structures in the power circuit are time-integrated to incorporate soft-switching. They are not compatible to abrupt structure switching. Sliding mode control (SMC), on the other hand, generates robustness features through structure switching in a proper way. This article analyses, with practical implementations, compatibility of structure switching for SMC in modern high frequency full bridge inverters.
