Abstract :
With the development of the information era, a large amount of works of literature are created and data of them are becoming more complicated and tremendous, which brings great difficulty for readers in reading and comprehending. Moreover, the content of these works are varied. In most cases experts assess the works according to their own experience and subjective evaluation. There is the absence of a quantified evaluation method. Therefore, the study originating from the point of complex network tries to construct a complex network of texts and have a thorough study of its characteristics, aiming to come to understand the writing features of writers. Then it is possible to assess quality of works of different writers which would further promote researches of processing of natural language. The study of complex network of texts takes the famous river novel Gone with the Wind as the research object. Using theories of complex system and complex network, it adapts methods of text analysis, text classification to have a systematic research of the novel. The study tries to take the information of characters in the novel as knots and the accidental events and relation among characters as lines to construct a text complex network, the nature of topology of which is adopted to analyze the content structure of text. Meanwhile, all idexes of topology are put into use of acquiring main information and assessing the information, which is conducive for readers to better understand texts.
