  • Abstract
In the paper, we proposed a method called text block division based on text segmentation. Through steps like discourse structure analysis, relevance score computation and features´ significance estimate, we divide the entire text into several blocks, each block containing common topic events. Thus, we get well prepared for event type identification. Experiments prove that our method is effective and beneficial to domains like event extraction, entity type recognition, etc.
