Abstract :
In an e-manufacturing platform, activities such as design, fabrication, inspection, assembly, logistics, and service, can be electronically planned down to processing details. Although most CAX functions have successfully provided essential technical solutions, the subtle variations in the operations are prone to forgetfulness and mistakes for the inexperienced. The issue is especially critical when senior engineers have been occupied or not instantly available, or when too much detail is required in a not-frequently-operated task. On the other hand, job dispatching has always been a crucial issue in mix-model productions. Timely and immediate on-job trainings can help create specialists that incrementally and gradually relief the urge by providing dispatch flexibility. Therefore, using an electronic 3D technical documentation system to provide ubiquitous service can be a total solution. This research will organize electronic data in all aspects of a product lifecycle, and develop supporting interactive 3D documentations based on the intrinsic quality of the data and the stage function of the lifecycle. It is expected that, with the creation of the documentation system, there will be no waiting lost for technical advising, no message lost for professional supports, less restrictions in job dispatching, better connections among workflows, and thorough preservation for production techniques.
