Abstract :
Double-clad Yb-free Er-doped all-fiber laser and amplifier schemes based on novel P2O5-Al2O3-SiO2 glass matrix are demonstrated. A record slope efficiency of 40% with respect to the absorbed pump power at 976 nm was obtained.
