Abstract :
In this paper, Optical properties of the electrospun polymer nanofibers made of polystyrene (PS) with 550 nm diameter, due to their applications in the waveguides, have been studied. These properties have been investigated with the calculations of electric and magnetic energy densities as well as the light intensity distributions in the nanofibers. Here we present the plots of the changes in the distribution of electric and magnetic energy densities as well as the distribution of intensity versus the distance from the nanofibers center. The results show the effects of the wavelengths in the optical range on these three parameters. These effects are most visible in the study of TE01, TE02, TM01 and TM02 modes distributions.
