Abstract
In this paper we propose an adaptive link layer security (ALL-Sec) architecture far wireless networks which provides adaptive link layer security composition. ALL-Sec accounts for various environment factors like user profile, device profile and network characteristics. It enables a mobile device to have an appropriate security level with optimal utilization of its limited resources (CPU cycles, memory, power consumption, network bandwidth). In this paper we present ALL-Sec design considerations, the detailed architecture, its implementation and experimental results that show the advantages obtained by the proposed solution.
