Abstract :
The pseudospectral time-domain (PSTD) method is a new way for solving Maxwell\´s equation. It\´s based on the FFT (fast Fourier transform), since it utilizes the PWS expansion to represent the spatial derivatives. Meanwhile, the periodicity of the FFT produces so called "wraparound effects"-a major limitation of its application. The article shows the feasibility of this algorithm by numerical examples, and presents two methods (PML and MUR ABC) for overcoming the problem, giving a comparison of both methods in one dimension.
