Abstract :
A new method (ultrasonic computed velocimetry) to measure complete vector components of flow velocity is proposed. Using this method, it is possible to measure the flow velocity components both along and transverse to the beam axis. This method is able to simultaneously measure the signs and magnitude of the flow velocity components. Reflected ultrasound waves are used together with fully linear signal processing procedures. The first step is Fourier transformation but in the polar axis direction. Detailed procedures, numerical simulation and some experimental results are presented
