Abstract
A C-band (5.5GHz) six-port junction is proposed. The six-port junction, composed of one power divider and three 90° hybrid couplers, is the key of the new direct digital receiver which will satisfy the mass-market wireless communication systems and radar requirements. This kind of receiver consists of a six-port junction, RF detectors which run in the square-law characteristics, video amplifiers and I/Q decoder. The phase shifts and insertion loss values of six-port junction circuit are generally identified by simulation. As the measurement results show, the phase shift accuracy is 12° and the margin consistency is 2dB.
