Abstract :
In this paper, based on the property of a plane wave, a second order absorbing boundary condition (ABC) in FDTD is obtained. This ABC can overcome the defects of available ABCs and is extensively applicable even on a corner or an edge. It is suitable for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional problems and for both TE and TM incidence. Numerical results agree well with that available.
