Abstract :
A circularly polarized conical-beam antenna composed of strip dipoles and slots is presented. The equations for its radiation patterns are derived, and experimental results of the first model are demonstrated and compared with calculated results. The measured and calculated radiation patterns of the mod E/sub Theta / mod component in a vertical plane at 2.93 GHz are presented. The measured result agrees well with the calculated curve. Another radiation pattern at 3.1 GHz is almost the same. The peak direction is around 30 degrees from the broadside. It can be lowered when the antenna diameter becomes smaller. Also presented are the measured and calculated ripples of the mod E/sub Theta / mod component in a conical-cut plane of Theta =30 degrees at 2.93 GHz.<>
