            Abstract : 
A miniature Doppler probe using a unidirectional leaky-wave surface acoustic wave transducer is presented for application to the measurement of blood flow in a living body. The interdigital electrodes in four pairs were fabricated on piezoelectric materials with dimensions of 1.6 mm×2.2 mm. The transducer has a 5-MHz center frequency, a directivity of 13.5 dB to 18 dB, and an electroacoustic conversion efficiency of -27 dB. The utility of the probe was demonstrated in blood flow measurements. The probe eliminates the need for a stand-off incorporated with a conventional Doppler probe
