Abstract :
An improved technique is presented for synthesizing a linear antenna array pattern with multiple prescribed broad s. The array pattern synthesis problem is formulated as a least-squares optimization problem. A computation method based on matrix factorization is developed for reducing the computational complexity of determining the optimal weight vector. In order to use this technique in HF radar systems in real time mode, a formula is derived to reduce the storage and computational complexity of the algorithm. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the capability of this technique in forming s in the prescribed directions.
