Abstract :
A uniform circular array (UCA) is known as a kind of curvilinear array. It uses much fewer elements to estimate two-dimensional (2-D) azimuth-elevation angles than a rectangular array and provides more freedom of resolvable angle dimensions than a uniform linear array (ULA). In this paper, we present a high resolution direction finding method for a UCA. It transforms the UCA from element space to mode space and then incorporates the RELAX algorithm into 2-D angle estimation. Computer simulations show its effectiveness.
