  • Abstract
    Standard harmonic-balance algorithms are not able to simulate frequency divided steady states. In this work, a complementary technique for analyzing frequency division in commercial harmonic-balance simulators is presented. The technique is based on a continuation method that allows the direct tracing of frequency division bifurcation diagrams. It has been applied here to a simple frequency divider, based on a long-lifetime varactor diode. The bifurcation diagram up to the order 8 has been obtained from a single execution of the harmonic-balance simulator
