Abstract :
In the German LCTSX program funded by DLR and kicked off November, 2002, two flight models of a laser communication terminal (LCT) based on homodyne BPSK modulation is manufactured, qualified and delivered in 2005 by Tesat for an in-orbit verification planned in 2006. A satellite-to-ground link from the German LEO TerraSAR-X satellite to a ground station shall be established to study the impact the atmosphere has on a coherent link. Later on, in 2007 the LCT´s performance shall be verified by an inter-satellite link.
