Abstract
The transverse electromagnetic wave transmission cell (TEM cell) has been widely used in the research of EMC measurement and the biological effects of electromagnetic fields. The asymmetrical transverse electromagnetic wave transmission cell (ATEM cell) has many advantages, for example, the field intensity is strong and more homogeneous in upper space of the ATEM cell and larger equipment under test (EUT) can be put in lower space, etc. In this paper the three dimensional FDTD-method is applied to analyse the electric field distribution in an ATEM cell. The calculation method and the characteristics of the field distribution in ATEM cells for different frequencies are introduced. The results of measurement are introduced.
