Abstract :
Efficiency and adjacent channel interference (ACI) performance requirements of modern cellular 3G/4G, wireless metropolitan area networks (WMAN), multipoint multi-channel distribution service (MMDS) and local multipoint distribution service (LMDS) transmitters, and space transponders all have prompted research into areas such as linearization, peak-to-average power reduction, modem hardware. impairments correction, and emission spectral shaping and filtering. This paper illustrates using computer simulations, theoretical analysis, and experimental results several techniques for making transmitters more efficient and more programmable. Also an attempt was made to identify some of their hardware implementation difficulties and performance limiting factors.
