Abstract :
Multi-aperture imaging provides a variety of modalities in object observation. A compound-eye camera called TOMBO is an effective platform for computational imaging based on multi-aperture imaging. As an example of medical application, a TOMBO imaging system was applied to 3D shape measurement of teeth and gingivae and to estimation of gingival tissue composition for odontotherapy. Lastly, an imaging modality based on virtualization of an optical system is introduced as a sophisticated extension of multi-aperture imaging.
