Abstract
A new kind of microstrip stub, the step radial stub is proposed in this paper. The boundary element method is applied to complete the analysis of step radial stubs. The method is first tested on common radial stubs and then used to compute the input reactance and equivalent characteristic impedance of step radial stubs. Comparisons show that step radial stubs can work better than conventional straight stubs and common radial stubs when low impedance and a wide low-impedance frequency band are required.
