Abstract :
Complexity is generally a characteristic of large engineering system today. Complexity may cause unanticipated effects that lead to failures of the system. Their inherent complexity makes the design of large engineering system face increasingly difficulties that cannot be met by stand-alone systems. In recent years, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is more and more noticeable. The feature SOA is very appropriate to large engineering system design. This paper focuses on the description and simplification of the complexity by using service-oriented methodology and suggests a federated service-oriented integration framework (SOIF) for large engineering system design.
