Abstract
The possibility of improving the performance of systems, avoiding electro/optical conversion is explored, by the introduction of optical memories. In particular, a buffering device is presented, in which the optical signal is stored in memory blocks based on the accumulated photon echo phenomenon. The complete operational function is performed using logical gates obtained through nonlinear interaction of spatial beams
