  • Abstract
The currently deployed Internet offers poor support for multimedia and real time applications due to the lack of QoS capabilities. Thus, a possible solution is based on resource reservation to provide QoS, but the ineffective use of such resources can be a detriment to such solutions. Then, the integration of TE strategies with proposals of QoS becomes necessary, with the aim of solving this problem. A way to solve such a problem uses the preemption of preventing idle resources in the domain with the aim of taking care of other traffic of higher priority. In this paper, the authors propose and evaluate a LSP preemption policy, implemented with a fuzzy controller. The validity of the proposal is demonstrated from results obtained in an experimental study.
